What you will be doing

You will be supporting our public sector clients, in particular on federal and state level, with establishing and developing their Enterprise Architecture Management capability. In your role as an IT architect you will be helping our clients to tackle special challenges at the interface between authorities and IT service providers, and identify the best way IT can support necessary actions set out within the implementation of laws, e.g. the German Online Access Act (Onlinezugangsgesetz).

  • Analyzing and documenting the current state architecture
  • Developing domain-specific models (e.g. service or business capability models)
  • Developing blueprints and roadmaps for the future state architecture across different authorities
  • Supporting the action planning of authority-specific processes, applications, and infrastructure
  • Working on transformation projects with IT service providers and authorities
  • Developing technical reference architectures
  • Conducting architecture reviews
  • Establishing Enterprise Architecture practices

What we expect from you

We expect you to meet the following skills, experiences, and academic requirements:

  • Degree in business information systems, business economics/business administration or a related discipline
  • Senior level experience of working in the field of Enterprise Architecture in the public sector as an employee or consultant
  • Hands-on experience of working with established architecture frameworks and methodologies such as TOGAF®, ArchiMate® and V-Modell XT
  • Detailed public sector domain knowledge
  • Broad IT knowledge
  • Strong project management skills
  • Strong abstract and structured thinking skills and ability to look at the big picture
  • Strong willingness to learn
  • Driven by goals and results
  • Excellent interpersonal and verbal as well as written communication skills in German
  • Ability to interact with management at all levels

Your Career Path

Our career model comprises six levels. Applicants who do not yet meet the requirement profile of an experienced architect usually join us as a Fellow or Associate Architect. Regardless of the career level, our architects can specialize in a particular architecture domain (e.g., Business Architecture, Enterprise Architecture) and/or specific industries (e.g., biotech).

FELLOW ARCHITECT

Level 1
Fellow Architects are architects in the early stages of their training. They support the team primarily through research and analysis as well as in the documentation of project results.

ASSOCIATE ARCHITECT

Level 2
Associate Architects are architects in training with first work experience. They work in a team with more experienced architects, for instance to set up EA practices and tools, and document as-is landscapes.

ARCHITECT

Level 3
Architects are the backbone of our service delivery and perform typical architecture activities. The role requires successful completion of our training program or equivalent professional experience.

PRINCIPAL ARCHITECT

Level 4
Principal architects take on complex tasks, e.g., the role of lead architect in transfor­ma­tion projects and lead teams and/or competence centers. The role requires extensive experience as an architect.

ASSOCIATE PARTNER

Level 5
Associate Partners are in charge of business areas or cross-functional areas. They develop our strategic client and partner relationships and take over the management of the project portfolio.

PARTNER

Level 6
Partners are shareholders of Scape. They are responsible for specific business and/or cross-functional areas, client portfolio management as well as strategic business development.
