About us

We are a boutique consultancy specializing in strategic management with a focus on Business, Enterprise, and IT Architecture. As a leading independent specialist, we advise our clients on implementing their strategy and successfully transforming their business and IT landscapes.

Facts and figures

Scape was founded in 2011 with the vision of creating a leading independent specialist for EA services. Since then, we have supported numerous organizations from various industries in establishing EA practices and taking on architecture engagements, initially in Germany and increasingly abroad. Additionally, we have trained and educated more than 700 architects from all over the world.

Our Team

Our team is made up entirely of experienced architects and architecture enthusiasts. In addition to their technical expertise, our consultants have excellent communication skills. Our management also has many years of experience in the field of architecture and most of them are still active in the client business. All of this forms the basis for the fulfilment of our quality promise.

Scape is a member of The Open Group and has a seat in both the Architecture Forum and the ArchiMate® Forum. Scape is a Guild Accredited Training Partner® (GATP®). Our course offering in the field of Business Architecture is accredited by the Business Architecture Guild. The Business Architecture Guild is an association of practitioners dedicated to advancing Business Architecture and publisher of the well-known BIZBOK® Guide (A Guide to the Business Architecture Body of Knowledge®). Darmstadt University of Technology

Scape maintains a close partnership with the Chair of Information Systems | Software & Digital Business at the Technical University of Darmstadt. The collaboration includes joint research projects and the supervision of theses in our field of activity.

 

HTW Berlin

Scape collaborates with the Department of Computer Science, Communication, and Business at the University of Applied Sciences Berlin. The collaboration includes regular guest lectures in the Master's program in Information Systems on the topic of Enterprise Architecture Management, as well as the supervision of student projects as an industry partner.

Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences

Scape collaborates with Prof. Dr. Jürgen Jung, Professor of Information Systems at the Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences in Frankfurt. The collaboration includes regular guest lectures in the Master's program in Information Systems on the topic of Enterprise Architecture Management, as well as the supervision of student projects in the role of an industry partner.

Arash Mostashari
Partner

Arash Mostashari is a Partner at Scape Consulting and responsible for the academy business. He is a certified Enterprise and Business Architect (incl. TOGAF®, CBA®, ArchiMate®) and trainer for Business Architecture. As a consultant, he is specialized in establishing, realigning, and implementing EA capabilities. In this context he has been helping companies across various industries at business and IT level in problem solving, planning, development, and communication using architecture methods and techniques, such as strategy mapping, value stream mapping, customer journey mapping and capability-based planning.

Dr. Lutz Kirchner
Partner

Lutz Kirchner is a Partner and authorized signatory of Scape Consulting. Following a long-standing engagement as a freelance software engineer, he received his doctoral degree at the Chair of Information Systems and Enterprise Modelling, University of Duisburg-Essen. Afterwards, he worked for over seven years as a Management Consultant for a leading vendor of Business Process and EA Management tools, where he also held a leading role in Product Management. At Scape, he is currently responsible for project portfolio, knowledge and partner management, and acting as a lead project manager in client projects.

Dr. Christian Schmidt
Managing Partner

Christian Schmidt is Managing Partner of Scape Consulting. He has a long-standing experience in establishing, optimizing and supporting Enterprise Architecture practices within end-user organizations. Before founding Scape in 2011, he has been working as a consultant, project manager, architect and software engineer within various industries including banking, (re-) insurance and pharmaceutical. He has received his Ph.D. from Darmstadt University of Technology and authored numerous publications on Enterprise Architecture and IT Complexity Management.

Mathias Gude
Architect

Mathias Gude is an Architect at Scape Consulting and trainer for EA essentials. He is a certified Enterprise Architect (including TOGAF®) and brings extensive expertise in the practical application of EA methodology. As a consultant, his focus is on the introduction, realignment, and operationalization of EA functions. He supports companies across various industries at the intersection of business and IT, employing methods such as Application Portfolio Management, Master Planning, Solution Architecture Design, as well as Value-Stream and Business-Capability Mapping.
